Wesley Gibson
è un patetico giovane pusillanime, che svolge un monotono lavoro impiegatizio, e vive con la sua ragazza che lo
tradisce con il suo migliore amico nonché collega di lavoro; 

sul posto di lavoro viene continuamente
insultato e avvilito dal suo capo.

La sua vita viene però stravolta dall'arrivo di Fox, apparentemente una
criminale, che gli promette vendetta per la perdita di suo padre. In breve tempo, Wesley finisce a contatto con una 

società segreta di supercriminali: "la Confraternita", di cui suo padre, soprannominato "Il Killer", era il
